Are our products safe to take overseas?
Yes, the timbers we use are safe to send or take overseas because they have been processed and sealed. In fact our products are designed to be lightweight and easy to carry or post making them an ideal gift.
What happens if liquid is spilled on our products?
All of our timbers have been sealed and varnished, which helps protect them from water marking or staining. We recommend the occasional application of a vegetable oil to help protect the timber.
Who designs our products?
We do! Our business is special because it is owned and operated as a family business. We pride ourselves on designing and making our own products.
Are our products really made and designed in Australia?
Yes! Our business is owned and operated as a family business. Our products are 100% made in Australia. Everything is cut, assembled and packaged in our home studio on the Mornington Peninsula, near Melbourne. We always endeavour to use Australian materials and source recycled and local materials wherever possible. We are registered with the Australian Made, Australian Grown Campaign, and are licensed to use the Australian Made logo on our products.
What timbers do we use?
We use several different Australian timbers. Each order we pack includes a variety of these. We are dependent on our suppliers and availability of this natural material, and therefore cannot always guarantee specific timbers. We will however, always try to accommodate requests. It is important to remember that the same timber can vary from tree to tree in grain, texture and colour.
Do we use veneers?
Yes, we use timber veneers and not solid timber as this extends the use of the tree. Our timbers are sourced from Australian suppliers who invest in new growth plantations. Wherever possible we ensure the timbers we use are Australian and are processed in a sustainable manner. We are careful not to use materials in the core of the veneers that have a high content of formaldehyde in the adhesives or glues. With this in mind it is integral to us that we have sourced materials that do not present a risk for the user. The veneers we use are made with a substrate that holds no ‘issue of concerns’ and therefore is safe.
